Company history:
Ford Electrical Limited is a 100% Tauranga family owned and operated business. Originally setup by The Late Marion and Max Ford and Max's Brother Ron in 1970, Ford Electrical Ltd has been operating uninterupted since 1970 with multiple family members involved and many Electricians and Service technicans trained over the years to the highest standard. The business has always run from its own premises built in the early 1970s by Max and Marion Ford after demolishing the original old buildings on the sites at 34 Chapel Street and 11 West Street.
Ford Electrical Ltd was one of Tauranga's largest Electrical Contractors undertaking projects including wiring of the Matakana Island Sawmill, the very first high rise apartment building at Mount Maunganui 'Mount Royale' and various other large and small residential and commercial projects. They diversified into in-ground spa pools in the 1980s as the market started to develop in NZ. Other products included above and in-ground swimming pools, manufacturing swim current pools including the 'olympiad' one of the first Swim Spas in NZ, and installing kitset and custom built traditional heater stove saunas made from Finnish White Spruce.
After completing a Business Degree at the University of Waikato and working in Europe Selling Ophthalmic Surgery lasers and a variety of other markerting and sales roles, Jason Ford returned to help his Father Max with the business in 2003. With the unexpected passing of Max in 2007, Jason Ford took over the operation. With the help of his cousin Rob Ford, a registered Electrician and instrumental part of the success of the business, it has grown to having well over 4,000 spa pools in the market place from Queenstown to Whangarei and an ever growing customer base. They were awarded HotSpring Dealer of the year in 2016 and since then have continued to refine the efficient operation of the business.
We now sell a diverse range of Spa Pools, Sauna, Cold Plunge Pools, Swim Spas, Chemicals, Covers and Pool and Spa accessories.
All work is carried out to the current electrical standard by licensed electrical workers. We cover the BOP, Coromandel, Waikato and further afield on request.
